about

The Tea Heads were a lonesome and savage band from Madison, WI. Performing what could be described as “DRUG-ADDLED HILLBILLY ROCK” the quartet were active for a short time from 2012-2014. Featuring BROTHER JOSEPH TUCCI on a two drum attack, the frantic electric shredding of DEAD LUKE, vocals and acoustic guitar from the one and only MAD MAX ELLIOTT at his most deranged, and a piano playing technique employed by LUE LUECK simply known as “Neanderthal Hand.”

In June of 2014 the boys found themselves summoned to Rubber Tracks studio in NY by corporate overlords Pitchfork Media to cut half of a single for their ultimately doomed publication, The Pitchfork Review. Going straight from the plane to the studio the lads cranked out 10 songs live over a grueling and chemically assisted 48 hour session. The resulting single (B side “The Prowler” with A Side provided by their good friend, Zola Jesus) was the final that would ever be included with the monthly issue of the publication. The other 9 tracks were locked away and seemingly forgotten until now. Excavated from a Northern Wisconsin cattle graveyard and pried from a slime encrusted capsule; that lost session is presented here in its entirety for your pleasure or revulsion. This cassette tape is the last will and testament of THE TEA HEADS.
